Saltbox Nun on the Run Pan Seared Steak with Mushroom Sauce
Serving 2 | Prep time 10 mins | Total time 25 mins
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 bone-in ribeye or striploin steaks
- 1 diced shallot
- 1 diced garlic clove
- 100 gm shiitake mushrooms
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- ½ cup Saltbox Nun on the Run Cream Ale
- 1 cup whipping cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
Pairing Suggestion – Saltbox Essential IPA
Instructions:
- Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil and 1 tbsp butter to high heat in cast iron pan
- Pat steaks dry with paper towel and season with salt and pepper on both sides. Put steaks in pan
- Fry for 3-4 minutes per side or until steak forms charred crust and remove steaks when they reach desired doneness
- Add 1 diced shallot, 1 diced garlic clove, and 100 gm of shiitake mushrooms. Cook for 4-5 minutes or until mushrooms soften
- Deglaze pan with ½ cup of Saltbox Nun on the Run Cream Ale and add 1 cup of whipping cream
- Mix in 1 tbsp of Dijon mustard and continue to simmer for 4 – 5 minutes or until sauce thickens
- Serve steak with beer mushroom sauce
- Enjoy!
