Sub Sandwich Shop
799 Sackville Dr, Lower Sackville

This old school deli style submarine sandwich shop has been slinging subs since 1976 and they still practice the traditional sub sandwich making methods. They are take-out only and operate through a streetside window. This Lower Sackville institution serves primarily cold cut style subs, but they also have veggie and poultry options to choose from. The sub of choice is the deluxe or the cold cut trio. Both of which come with a range of cold cuts and toppings to choose from.

Each sandwich is topped with their ‘basic works’ option which includes mayo, lettuce, tomato, dill pickle, Spanish onions, salt, black pepper, and salad oil dressing. This is their original group of toppings that they have been serving since 1976. These days you can customise the toppings however you’d like. You can even opt for a few extra toppings that go beyond the original deluxe list. Diners can also order various bread types and sizes.

This sub shop is an homage to days gone by. They continue to do things the old way and stand strong with their traditions. They’re prompt, efficient, and make an excellent sandwich. They even keep record of your last order so you can just call and ask for what you had before, just to keep things simple.

These sandwiches are big, filling, and taste the way they’re supposed to. I suggest ordering yours with a chocolate milk and a lotto ticket to go. It’s true to its heritage and continues to serve Lower Sackville and the surrounding area. It is worth making a trip from the peninsula for one of these sandwiches and I for one hope this institution is here to stay for another 46-years or more!
