Marias Pantry is exactly what you would expect from such a name. Named after the Chef Michael Dolente’s Nona, Marias is a classic Italian pasta bar and pantry. Everything in this place is made in house and as soon as you take a bite it is evident that everything is made with love.
They have a small in-house dining space where they sling a range of pastas and sandwiches that taste as if you’re in Italy itself. They also have their pantry where you can buy to-go fresh pasta, a range of rich and flavourful sauces, cured meats, marinated olives, and cheese. The take home noodles are incredible.
They’re fresh, they always have a range of styles, and their ravioli changes regularly. They also have very good take and bake lasagna and some nice Italian desserts.
Let me also tell you about their cheese. They make fresh mozzarella and burrata in house. It is as good as any I’ve tried the world over. This cheese is super soft and melts in your mouth. It’s worth making the trip to Dartmouth for the cheese alone.
I love Maria’s! I used to make fresh homemade pasta, now I buy Maria’s fresh noodles instead. It’s a nice place to eat, but I find myself buying noodles to make pasta at home more often than dining in. This place has really helped transform the Dartmouth dining scene. They’ve brought Italy to town in a very
real and loving way.
