Upstreet Commons Beer Brined Chicken Wings

Total time 2 - 24 hours | Ingredients | 1 kg chicken wings

Brine:

  • 1 can Upstreet Commons Pilsner
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp pepper
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 3 cups water

 Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 354 ml Frank’s Red Hot sauce
  • 1 cup Upstreet Commons Pilsner
  • Salt and pepper to taste

 Instructions

  • Place 1 can Upstreet Commons Pilsner, 2 garlic cloves, 1 bay leaf, 2 tbsp salt, 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp pepper, juice of 1 lime, 1 tbsp vinegar, and 3 cups of water in a large bowl. Stir until all ingredients are dissolved and add 1 kg chicken wings. Cover and refrigerate for 2 - 24 hours
  • Heat BBQ to medium
  • Remove chicken wings from brine and allow to dry. Season with salt and pepper and put on direct heat on bbq to create grill marks
  • Mix 3 tbsp butter, 354 ml Franks Red Hot, and 1 cup Upstreet Commons Pilsner in a BBQ safe pot. Put on grill. Allow butter to melt. Mix and season with salt and pepper to taste
  • Brush wings with sauce and turn BBQ to low. Continue to cook for an additional 25 - 30 minutes turning occasionally until wings are fully cooked
